Vol-012-2 Ink on Crackled Gold Leaf: How to combine alcohol ink, metal leaf and translucent polymer clay in very creative ways. Tricks for working with the inks, crackling the leaf and encasing in translucent clay are discussed. As well, examples of pendants and earrings are shown.

Cindy, I recently found you, and I'm so impressed with the videos. I especially like this alcohol ink on foil technique. Your instruction is just wonderful and I have already learnt so many terrific things. Your excellent videos really are the best way to learn. I'm so pleased I found your website. With kind wishes.

I do love hearing people say, "That's clay?" when I show off something new to somebody on campus. I've gotten great comments on my alcohol ink and metal leaf pendants that I made thanks to your excellent tutorial.

That was a great video! The crackled ink effects are so beautiful. Thanks very much.

I see says the blind man... one of my issues was getting the translucent thin enough, thanks for showing this. I have some very ornate cigar bands, and this is perfect for showing detail and encasing them in polymer clay. Thanks again Cindy, I will no longer make so many mistakes!

What a great idea for rolling extra-thin sheets of translucent clay! I've seen something similar before, but using the folder is a really great addition to the technique.

Ok, you got me with this one... I'm now a fan. Lately I have been into transfers and I just have to learn this technique. I guess it's about time I didn't have to make mistakes and just let you do them for me... LOL. I will always make mistakes... but maybe less of them from now on. Thanks for your help Cindy.

Cindy shows the good, the bad, and the ugly, as it happens live. It comforts me to see experts have similar problems, and watch them work it out. You could've left out the metal foil sticking to the rollers, or how difficult the transparent clay was to remove from the paper backing. But leaving it in gives more realism.

~Jocelyn-C

That is beautiful...and I have all the stuff I need to proceed. What will I do with it when completed? I don't know that yet, but I will definitely find a way to incorporate it into my work... maybe a base for my figures... you are a genius Cindy.

How did you know that I had alcohol inks on my list to buy today? Now I'm going to try some of your ideas, you make everything so easy for us. Thanks again Cindy, you are always a fountain of ideas and suggestions!

I love it! I've been using foils and creating a similar effect by layering coloured translucent clay over cracked foil on black or white... but your way is so much better. You've inspired me to order some alcohol inks, becasue I know I'll be using them lots to make pretty things.
